An activity for those who want to take their skiing technique to the next level. If you want to be able to choose and adventure yourself into steeper or more complex trails, then this one’s for you!  

Skiing with the right technique builds confidence. The more confident we feel, the more options we have to safely enjoy ourselves. 

This clinic is for skiers that already have some experience in backcountry skiing and want to upgrade their abilities.  We’ll aim for an intermediate out of track level and greater familiarity with backcountry gear. Get to meet new adventure buddies and learn this incredible activity!

Location: Bariloche, Argentina

Duration: 2 days in terrain

Dates: August to September

Requirements: Ideal – Experience in backcountry skiing (safety and gear management). Good physical condition.

Guides and Ratio: 6:1

12 people max.

Ski pass not needed.

We’ll meet at the base of Cerro Catedral, in Rental 26 Shop. This is a full day activity from 9am to 17.

Activities will be held in Catedral, La Laguna and Van Titter.

First Day: Cerro Catedral

The day will be split in 3 parts:

1.

  • Technique on trails/tracks
  • Unifying criteria
  • Group level check

2.

  • Out of track skills
  • Downhill corrections
  • From easy to hard

3.

  • Backcountry Ski: Laguna area.
  • Choosing itineraries
  • Terrain reading and snow conditions
  • Self-rescue (DVA, Shovel and probe)

 

Second day: Freeride on Van Titter

(Area: TBC, depending on conditions)

  • Looking for the right place to apply our skills.
  • Slopes / Couloirs / Speed / Control
  • Safety (Cheking the DVA)
  • Choosing Itinerary (choosing our way down)
  • Group management (roles inside a group)
  • The importance of anticipation (terrain)
