A challenge for all those who want to go out and explore the surroundings of Bariloche through wilder trails and unconventional routes. Ascensions that will require specific techniques, which we will develop in each expedition. The large mountains tour is designed to progress in the immense world of searching for the mountains that are high up where the condors fly.

WHO IS IT FOR?
To motivated people who want to have tools to be able to handle themselves reliably in mountain exploration terrain, being able to plan and successfully carry out their outings. You need experience in trekking, good physical condition and a great desire to enjoy the mountains! All departures are planned from Bariloche.

CUERNOS DEL DIABLO
El Cuernos is one of the most technical mountains in the area. We choose spring, because it gives us the opportunity to climb the steepest slopes with snow and learn different progression techniques. Before departure we will have a previous meeting in Bariloche, or by meet, to clear up any doubts. Then the ascent and descent to the refuge is by your own means. The meeting will be in Jakob on the first day around 6 p.m. where we finalize details, regulate equipment, etc. On day 2 we will make our summit attempt, leaving at dawn for the Devil’s Horns. We estimate a 12-hour day from the refuge and back. We recommend spending the night at the refuge and going down the next day.

CERRO CAPILLA
When we travel through Circuito Chico, a super slender mountain captures our attention. Without a doubt, Capilla is an iconic hill in Bariloche, but its isolation and logistics make it an unusual climb. Before departure we will have a previous meeting in Bariloche, or to meet those from outside. The first day we left from Bahía Lopez, to cross the Brazo Tristeza by boat. We begin the ascent to the Slovenian Bivouac area where we spend the night. The second day we will attempt the summit. Arriving at the ridge has its difficulty, but we have the whole day to enjoy. Then in the afternoon we return to the bivouac and the next day we go down to the lake.

CERRO VENTISQUERO
One of the treasures that the Manso River Valley hides. The snowdrift hill is the largest in the area, the upper part has a beautiful glacier that draws attention when we enter the valley. Our proposal is to disconnect on the first day to connect in the La Foyelina Estancia, a privileged place to prepare our entire camp and ascension for the next day. The second day we will ascend to a high altitude camp where we will leave everything
ready for our summit attempt. Finally, on day three, we will leave early to see the landscape from the top. The upper part is demanding, and where depending on the time of year we will have to use technical material. In the afternoon we will return to Bariloche.

Food in the mountains

We recommend packing your snacks of choice for those long days in the mountains. Same goes for your favorite beverages. Eating well is key for keeping your strength up out in the wild. And to cope with the loss of appetite, the best you can have is a wide variety of food at your disposal, from sweet to sour and salty. Carrying at least 2 liters if water is essential.
